SIOP 2010 Coverage
General: Schedule Planning | Lament Over Wireless Coverage
Live-Blogs: Day1 | Day 2 | Day 3
Daily Summaries: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

Wireless Internet access was not accessible on Day 1 of the conference, so I attempted to set up live-blogging through Twitter.  It was, however, unsuccessful until Day 2.  As a result, Day 1 was not live-blogged.  The transcript below is thus a later capture of my Twitter stream during Day 1.

8:27 AM: Opening plenary about to begin… #SIOP #SIOP10

8:31 AM: 3800 registered at #SIOP10…

8:33 AM: Three original founders of SIOP giving opening talk #SIOP10

8:40 AM: RT @iopsychology @rnlanders Is there wireless on the conference floor? I’d do some tweeting on Thursday if so. #SIOP #SIOP10

8:44 AM: At least 20 people who have been to all 25 #SIOP conferences!

9:23 AM: Ed Salas has taught me more about K Kraiger than I think I ever wanted to know. Black glove!! #SIOP10

9:30 AM: First ever #SIOP presidential music video… Excellent!

9:53 AM: Kraiger: #SIOP has a responsibility and is successfully reaching out in both national advocacy and local service to the community

10:33 AM: Just met the @ioatwork folks in the exhibit hall. You should too!! There are even free Southern biscuits. #SIOP10 #SIOP

11:04 AM: #SIOP Web 2.0 session: Increased face validity/reactions of video-based interviewing vs. telephone-based? #SIOP10

12:00 PM: Increasingly displeased at the lack of wifi at #SIOP… if only there were tethering on the iPhone! #SIOP10

12:35 PM: Agreed but depressing RT @WorkPsy The irony that I can’t tweet about Web 2.0 due to lack of wifi amuses me. For a moment, anyway!

12:38 PM: #SIOP Online Assessment: “technology is anything invented after you were born”… Mmm maybe. I’d argue new uses for old tech qualifies.

12:48 PM: #SIOP Online Assessment: Companies increasingly losing job applicants when mobile phone-based selection isn’t available

1:05 PM: If it really exists! http://cli.gs/bj3a8g RT @WorkPsy They look a little creepy. Uncanny valley anyone? #siop

2:58 PM: Many of us are! RT @teeroc Anyone attending #SIOP right now?

3:01 PM: Totally worth it! RT @IOATWORK Don’t forget: special treat for our followers @ the I/O AT WORK booth @ 3 PM!

3:21 PM: Apparently I just averted a #SIOP disaster…

3:32 PM: That’s it – all done now tho. RT @teeroc Nevermind…found it…Poster “On the Meta-analysis of Nonrandom, Quasi-Experimental Data”

3:34 PM: Wondering if Assessment Center 2.0 will really be a reinvention, or just same-ole in a new media #SIOP #SIOP10

4:26 PM: NeoAcademic: SIOP 2010: No Wireless Internet (http://cli.gs/vBs4r) #SIOP #SIOP10
